Current beauty product obsessions: 5 products you must try

Hi readers,

As you all know I am a beauty lover. Besides fashion, beauty is another great passion of mine and I love to try out new products. Of course I have my own routine but I do try to change a bit once in a while to improve my looks. If you’re interested in my work makeup routine, don’t hesitate to read about it. If you want you can share yours too, together we learn!

These babies are currently my new obsessions:

L’Oréal True Match Powder

I do like the texture and the lightness of this powder. L’Oréal will always be my first choice when it comes to foundations, bb creams or powders. It’s non comedogenic, which means it doesn’t harm the skin and it has been dermatologically tested. Get yours here – now only 8,99 euros!

If you’re pale just like me, go for the coral shade. I wear it on my cheeks and my lips as well and it makes that typical “ghost” effect disappear (you know, when you’re so pale you look like dead – yeah, I suffer from that). This product is cheap, based on natural ingredients and good quality. What’s more to ask? Get yours here, only 6 euros!

Playboy “Play it lovely” Deodorant

This is by far my favorite deodorant. I’ve had perfume before from Playboy and they have an amazing scent. It’s very feminine and floral like, I absolutely love it. According to Fragantica “Play it lovely” is the ideal frangance for a daily flirt filled with wonderful, playful innocent notes. Get 3 bottles of perfume of this series for only 40 euros.

Essence Lash Princess Mascara

This mascara is according to me the best mascara ever! It has no competition. I have tried all the popular mascara’s by Maybelline, L’Oréal, name it – I have bought it. Still, I stick to my Lash Princess by Essence. If you haven’t tried it yet, get yours here.
Batiste Dry Shampoo for Brunettes

With my greasy hair, a dry shampoo is no luxury. Batiste is a good brand, they are well known for their dry shampoos. The good thing about the brand is, is that they also have one especially for brunettes. Which excludes the typical “white hair” effect because of the brown color. Make sure you don’t spray it on your clothes, keep them protected. Get yours here.

I’ve told you my personal beauty favorites. But I’m sure you have favorites of your own, why not share them in the comment box

What’s in my bag?

Hi sweeties,

Okay, so everyone seems to do this kind of blogpost and I kinda felt like I had to do this too, haha. No, seriously, every single fashion, beauty & lifestyle blogger has written a “What’s in my bag?” post. I don’t have secrets considering what’s in my bag so I might as well share this too.

At first, let me talk about my bag itself. It’s one of the most famous bags of Longchamp, Le Pliage. I have one in orange, and you can also get one of your own if you like because orange is currently in the collection. Le Pliage has been launched in 1993, one year before I was born. Yes, this bag tells a story! Originally designed for travelling, the Pliage collection is now everywhere on the street: handbag, schoolbag, grocery shopping bag, city trip backpack, … It’s all over the place.

You can tell, I work for Longchamp. But it’s not because I work for the brand that I believe it is good quality, it’s because I carry the bags myself and because I can see the quality is beyond fantastic. I enjoy the different colors, styles and leather types. My Pliage bag is with me all the time, especially for work I love the L1623 size. It’s a medium size with short handles which fits all my belongings easily. I can really recommend this.

So here you can see a picture of me with my bag. But what’s hidden inside? Y’all wanna know, I can spot your curiosity behind the computer screen 😉

Little Notebook – Because I have a head full of ideas (way too much ideas sometimes), I need my little notebook to write them down. Sometimes when I’m on the bus, I get an idea of a blogpost or makeup/outfit look. Of course I can use my mobile phone to save the ideas, but I prefer to write it down. My phone’s battery isn’t unlimited either and a note book will never let me down.

Lunch box – Like every other human being I bring my lunch box with me for the lunch break on work. What I eat most of the time? Sandwich.

Hair brush – When having my break, I do my morning routine partly for the second time. Brushing my hair, powdering my nose, putting on lipstick and perfume, … Because I work in a luxury store it’s important to look good and to take care of my appearance.

Deodorant – If I had to choose between makeup, my brush and my deodorants, I would definitely bring my deodorants with me. I can’t stand the thought of not being fresh, so I use these on a frequent base to have a good scent. My fav at the moment: Play it lovely by Playboy and a Fresh Step foot spray by Scholl. Because I wear leather shoes at work I also use a foot deodorant.

Make-up bag – Hidden in my Longchamp pouch: L’Oréal True Match powder and several lipsticks. All my emergency makeup basically.

Wallet – I bought this Longchamp wallet in sale, and absolutely love it. It’s huge, but my bags are mostly huge too so that makes a good set 😀 The leather is very nice, it’s from the Foulonné collection from which I also own a bag from (click here to read about that bag).

Tic Tac mints – After lunch, always a Tic Tac (or two, or three, or four, …). I couldn’t finish a meal without, it became part of the routine.

Magazines – I need my daily read while lunch. Either online, or a paper magazine about the latest gossip and fashion trends. It’s relaxing.

Earplugs – Because I’m not taking the bus to work, I don’t need my earplugs that often. I am approximately ten minutes away from work, so listening to music isn’t really an option. But I do need them with me, just in case if I need to do some shopping beforehand or afterwards.

What do you have in your bag?

Personal life, OOTD & Beauty: Ons nieuw appartement

Dag lieve lezers,

…Ready, set, go!

My husband and I are doing a workshop. He works and I shop.”

The advantages of taking a break

Hi readers,

This month I took a break. Not only from blogging, but also from buying. Taking a break can be associated with many things, positive and negative. Positive, as in vacation or time for yourself. Negative, as in a type a failure as if you can’t handle your current projects – weakness, maybe? With society focusing on burn outs and mental health problems, craving a break may sound like you’ve given up.

I’ve always been a productive person. Being busy and achieving goals is definitely my thing. But I do believe that taking a break in these hectic times gives the opportunity for myself to get new ideas and get inspired. Breaking the routine definitely has its advantages to get a clear view on how your life’s going.

The same with buying. I ended up buying makeup and clothes I didn’t need, just to make myself feel better. While I needed to face the fact that my mind and body needed to relax, I thought buying a new set of earrings would heal the “wound”. It does, but only temporarely. You can’t buy stress away.

Taking a break may demand yourself to take a look in the mirror. How’s my life currently going? Do I feel good about myself? Do I like how I’m spending my time? Do I have goals and what do I want to achieve in the near future? All these questions may pop up into your head. While taking time to figure this out, you may find out that you’re not happy at all with how you’re living your life now. You can’t ignore what your inner you is telling you. Work may distract you from what that voice inside is telling you, but in the end the voice will always get louder until you have no choice but hearing it. Are you happy?!

While taking my own break, I realized I am very happy with my relationship, my job and my family. I feel like I’m growing up, diving into the next stage of life. That all is a blessing. What I had to face too, is my insecurity. Because I am commiting myself to my boyfriend, I’m also dealing with doubts. Not doubts about our relationship, doubts about myself. I am scared to take it to the next level. We are planning on living together (we already do, but were moving into a bigger apartment, I still consider this apartment as my own) and it’s exciting and frightening all at the same time. Stupid as it may sound.

I also lost my dog at the beginning of this month, so I had to take the time to grieve (I still am). The picture up above is the last one I had with him, and he will always have a place in my heart. Protecting yourself from stressing out is crucial, as I have learned in the past. Be kind for yourself and don’t expect too much – being okay is enough.

But I guess this is all part of growing up, right?

I also realized I need my blog. I need to write more, instead of filling this space with pictures with no text. I don’t want to write because I feel like I have to, I want to write when I feel like it. I want to write content that makes people think. From a twenty something girl for a twenty something audience. We’re all facing the same shit, we might as well help each other out and getting social, right?

How do you feel about taking a break?
