Hello dear readers,

It’s that time of the year again: HALLOWEEN! Get ready for some pumpkin proof, crazy witchcrafted scary spooky movie ideas, because things are about to get really freaky on this blog! Nah, just kidding. I’m just going to share my top 5 spooky movies with you 😀 So buy yourself some popcorn and soda on this night, grab your boyfriend to snuggle up under a cosy blanket with him and brace yourselves for one sleepless night –  it’ll be worth it trust me.

These are my top 5 scary movies to watch:

[1] Cabin in the Woods

215px-The_Cabin_in_the_Woods_(2012)_theatrical_posterStory: Five friends go for a break at a remote cabin, where they get more than they bargained for, discovering the truth behind the cabin in the woods.  Actors: Chris Hemsworth, Kristen Connoly, etc. (Source: IMDb)

The story itself is original, and it makes you ask a lot of questions. I like movies which trigger your interest, you start guessing and making up theories about how and why things happen. Not the best movie, sometimes a little over the top, but it’s a refreshing movie within the horror movie industry and a real must-see. It’s also more than just horror, there’s a dark humour in it too.

[2] The Butterfly Effect

MV5BODNiZmY2MWUtMjFhMy00ZmM2LTg2MjYtNWY1OTY5NGU2MjdjL2ltYWdlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAyODkwOQ@@._V1_Story: Evan Treborn suffers blackouts during significant events of his life. As he grows up, he finds a way to remember these lost memories and a supernatural way to alter his life by reading his journal. Actors: Ashton Kutcher, Amy Smart, etc. (Source: IMDb)

This movie is kind of heavy at the beginning, you get to see people doing awful things. Things that’ll make you understand the main character wanting to change situations. What if you could go back in time to make things different? Is it really a solution, or are things supposed to happen? This movie isn’t just a scary movie. It makes you think about life and the meaning of destiny.

[3] The Purge

91weQKo8UXL._SY445_Story: A wealthy family are held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legal. Actors: Ethan Hawke, Lena Headey, etc. (Source: IMDb).

What if you had 12 hours in which you could do any crime and get away with it without punishment? That’s the annual purge, in order to keep the peace in society. A night which could change it all. A great movie if you ask me!

[4] Annabelle

MV5BOTQwZmQyYzEtODk5ZC00OTY3LWExMjAtYzRjNWFhNGM3MzBlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTIzOTk5ODM@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_Story: A couple begins to experience terrifying supernatural occurrences involving a vintage doll shortly after their home is invaded by satanic cultists. Actors: Ward Horton, Annabelle Wallis, etc. (Source: IMDb)

There’s always something about dolls that gives you the creeps. Especially old dolls. The ones with the realistic eyes – like they are watching you. This doll, Annabelle, is one of those creepy ones. Nightmares included with the movie.

[5] Chuckie: Child’s play

MV5BZGU1MjNiYWYtNGQ5MS00MTgzLTlkYjItZDhhNTdlMTkxZGVlL2ltYWdlXkEyXkFqcGdeQXVyNTAyODkwOQ@@._V1_UX182_CR0,0,182,268_AL_Story: A single mother gives her son a much sought-after doll for his birthday, only to discover that it is possessed by the soul of a serial killer. Actors: Catherine Hicks, Alex Vincent, etc. (Source: IMDb)

Again: dolls. Everyone knows Chuckie. Everyone knows it’s a classic must-see horror movie during halloween. There’s always something scary about being “possessed” and devilish stuff. I just get the shivers thinking about it. Ugh.

I used to watch horror movies a lot more when I was in high school, but for the last couple of years I became kind of sensitive to it. Maybe because when I had my own place I didn’t dare to watch scary movies because I’d be alone afterwards. Anyways, I enjoy a good horror movie once in a while. As long as there’s a story in it. How do you feel about horror movies? Share your thoughts in the comment form. Don’t forget to tell us about your halloween plans! I’d love to hear from you!

‘till Next time, lovely readers. Thank you for your attention.
